FOR Coffee Shop / CAFÉ OWNERS
Where design meets
daily ritual.

We design coffee shops that are beautiful, functional, and true to your brand.
Envision places that are more than just somewhere to grab a drink. They’re spaces where your brand, story, and community come to life. We strive to make every detail crafted to feel uniquely yours – a reflection of your business and its (future) clientele.
Our process starts with you. Through early conversations and inspiration studies, we uncover what makes your concept special and translate it into a space that balances beauty with function. From barista workflow to customer flow, we make sure the design works as well as it looks.
We’ve worked with dozens of café owners, from first-timers with big ideas to seasoned operators growing their brands. Every project teaches us something new. Each concept has its own rhythm, its own story, and its own community to serve. Our role is to listen closely and help bring that to life in space.
Over the years, we’ve shaped a process that goes beyond finishes and furniture. It starts with understanding what gives each café meaning: the ideas behind the menu, the background of the owner, the people it’s meant to welcome, and the kind of experience it wants to create. Those details guide every design decision and ensure the space feels authentic from the start.
A good coffee shop feels effortless. The bar works the way the baristas think. The flow feels intuitive. The materials, light, and sound all set the right tone. Getting there takes careful planning and a clear understanding of how these places actually run, learned side by side with the people who live them every day.
We care deeply about this type of work. Designing cafés has become a lasting part of our practice, a craft we continue to refine with every new project. There is something special about helping a concept take shape, knowing it will become part of someone’s daily routine.
Opening a café is a complex process, but it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. We know the steps, the hurdles, and the quiet details that make a shop successful because we’ve been through them with our clients again and again.
We’ve helped dozens of café owners find the right space and open with confidence.
Drop us a line, we enjoy hearing about your entrepreneurial hopes and dreams!
Studio BANAA is an architecture and design firm in San Francisco that has been imagining and designing creative coffee shops since 2015.
We work with ownership teams of restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, bakeries, and other hospitality spaces at just about every stage, from early ideas and brand brainstorms to full build-outs and opening day.

What We Do: Coffee Shop Interior Design & Architecture
- Complimentary Feasibility Studies – Before you sign a lease, we can help you spot zoning or permitting red flags and uncover hidden buildout costs. Included in our initial complimentary package is a site visit, floor plan sketches, and early cost estimates.
- Discovery First – We start with conversations, questionnaires, and feasibility studies to understand what makes your concept unique.
- Collaborative Design – You react, we refine, and together we shape a space that feels authentically yours.
- Architecture + Interiors – From layouts to finishes, we design every detail around your vision.

Andytown Original
📍San Francisco, CA
In 2014 Andytown coffee began its mission to bring specialty coffee roasting to the Outer Sunset. Bound by the limitations of a 600 foot space, the team had to get creative to accommodate the coffee making, roasting, and baking functions. This meant using lofts, pulleys, and packing lots of equipment into a tight space.
